Most Canadian kids with dyslexia certainly feel alone. They know they look and act like most other kids nonetheless they cannot do the school work, reading, spelling and writing that the other kids can do. They are often called slow learners, trouble makers and stupid. As a result, they feel stupid and alone.

Parents most often do not know what is wrong with their child. Their child is intelligent and active but has difficulty with reading, spelling and writing. What are they to do? This is one of the most trying and stressful times a parent can have. Our Canadian education system will not recognize the term dyslexia, let alone take action to help the child. Teachers, although willing to help, are not trained in helping children with dyslexia.
